What We Do

At the Welfare Society for Patient Care (WSPC) we are committed to serving humanity by providing free, high-quality healthcare to those in need.

Our primary focus is on dialysis treatment for individuals suffering from chronic kidney disease. Beyond dialysis, we provide outpatient consultancy, physiotherapy, and music therapy, ensuring holistic care for our patients. Our facility is also equipped with a 24-hour emergency medical service, making critical treatment accessible at all times.

We envision a healthier, more equitable society where essential medical care is available to all, regardless of financial status. To achieve this, we are continually working to expand our services and resources, with the ultimate goal of establishing a dedicated kidney treatment hospital to support the growing number of patients in need.

What is Dialysis?

Kidney dialysis is a life-saving treatment for individuals with kidney failure, also known as end-stage renal disease (ESRD). When the kidneys can no longer filter waste, excess fluids, and toxins from the blood effectively, dialysis takes over this function to help maintain overall health.

There are two main types of dialysis. Hemodialysis uses a machine and a special filter, called a dialyzer (artificial kidney), to remove waste, extra fluids, and toxins from the blood. Blood is drawn from the body, cleaned through the dialyzer, and then returned to the body. This treatment is typically performed in a dialysis center three times per week, though some patients may do it at home.

Peritoneal dialysis, on the other hand, uses the body’s natural peritoneal membrane in the abdomen to filter waste. A cleansing fluid called dialysate is introduced into the abdomen through a catheter, where it absorbs toxins before being drained out. This type of dialysis can be done at home throughout the day (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis - CAPD) or overnight using a machine (Automated Peritoneal Dialysis - APD).

Dialysis helps manage kidney failure by keeping waste and fluid levels under control, preventing dangerous complications. While it is not a cure, it provides essential support for patients, either as a long-term treatment or while awaiting a kidney transplant. At WSPC we are dedicated to providing access to quality dialysis care, raising awareness, and supporting patients and families affected by kidney disease.
